Loving These

I've been meaning to blog about this for awhile now but other things seem got in the way, i dont know if any of you remember my blog entry about my attempt to make a cross stitch mural Here inspired by a talented dutch lady by the name of Eline Pellinkhof, well anyways I fell in love with her creations and that time i knew she wrote craft books but unfortunately they're in dutch language.

My sister and I are very close and we often chat via whatsapp on the phone and since she lives in Netherlands, she was telling me about this big craft show that was going to be held near to where she lives and coz i can't just fly to the Netherlands a few weeks after i just came back from my long holiday in Indonesia (i'm broke), I just told her about the book by Eline Pellinkhof that Im drooling over, she said she'll keep an eye on it if she saw it. I'm so thrilled and over the moon when a few weeks later a parcel dropped on my doorstep from my sister, she apparently has bought me not one but two books of Eline's (though they're written in dutch which i dont understand, i'm still happy that she bought me those as my birthday gifts and oh i just love flipping through the pages and see the lovely creations and beautiful photos in it). Not only she bought the two books but she also bought me the Christmas fabric from Eline too! a metre long fabrics with like 9 lovely different christmassy designs on it. (you can see the video of the pages inside the book in her website)

..and not long after, while browsing through Mollie Makes magazine last month, i was so happy to see that she finally published her book in English and i cant resist the offer of Mollie Makes magazine that if i subscribed the mags, i'll get the book for free plus a metre of eline's fabric, vintage design. Hubby seems to not mind it as long as i ticked the 6 months subscriptions, not a year's :P

I'm a happy bunny! I've been using some of the designs on the fabrics I got of Eline's and also make some creations from the book, but that's for another post. I guess Christmas comes early for me :)

Last but not least, I would like to say Thank you for my dear blogger friend Bee Happy for sending me a lovely card with little sticky note to put in the book written by her that I bought before i went for a holiday in Indonesia in July, I read her book on the airplane and i gotta say it's hilarious and very helpful if i ever want to buy/sell a house hehe.

..and thank you also for the cute matching bookmark you sent too. Until..next time..

Everything Alice

I've been eyeing this book for ages coz i do love everything Alice in Wonderland. but my patience paid off when hubby bought it for me for Christmas via amazon, i must say my wishlist doesn't get any shorter coz i love reading and there's always something new to add in my amazon book wishlist :)

The cover of the book is just adorable and there are so many beautiful illustrations and pictures inside the book that i'm drooling and wanting to make but have to wait til i have the materials to make them. I just wanted to share a few of the pics with you :)

Im also lucky enough to get another book on Doodle Stitching, it comes with a cd so i can just print out whatever design i want from the book without having to trace it from the book :)

..and i managed to pick up the latest issue of Mollie Makes from my local news agent, i'm so going to enjoy reading and flipping through the pages with plenty of cup of tea :)

PS: I'm being naughty just because Cath Kidston is having up to 50% SALE so i can't resist ordering a few things :P

English Breakfast

..well that's the tea i'm drinking this morning accompanied with crumpets dribbled with maple syrup.

and finally could finished one of the cross stitch/embroidery kits that i bought in a charity shop awhile back.

I felt like having crumpets and so when we went grocery shopping last night, i bought one packet from "taste the difference" range in sainsburys. Just put them in the grill for a few minutes and have it with maple syrup. Yumm!

as i was having my morning walk yesterday, i passed by one of the charity shop near my house and couldn't resist the temptation to go inside and have a look, saw these ladybird books for 20p each, so i bought 5 for £1.

'til next time...Happy Tea Time Tuesday!

PS: I just signed up for Christmas Charity Shop Swap over at the lovely Lakota. So excited!

Not yet ready for Christmas

..but i sure wanted to get started making things for christmas right away! I ordered this book a few days ago via Amazon and it arrived today! I love all of Tilda's fabrics and i sure need some inspiration on what to make for christmas so when hubby ordered his cartridges for the printer, I told him to add this book to the shopping cart too :p

and i also have another book i want to buy too! the Sew Pretty Christmas Homestyle but was too late as hubby already paid it, so it'll have to wait for next month i guess.

I have a few things I wanted to make from this book such as christmas tree ornaments and the lovely stockings, i think those are going to be my next projects, I just need the fabrics to make them. Here are some of the pages i snapped while browsing quickly before posting this :)

I'm doing as fast as i can to finish my other projects before starting my Christmas projects, managed to finish this cute cross stitch card from a free kit i got when i bought a cross stitcher magazine many months back.

Take away and a Movie

Since hubby's toe is still paining him, the doc said to bathe it with TCP and ointment cream so we decided to stay indoor, the long walk at the museum the other day was making it worst (poor thing). besides, the weather wasn't exactly nice anyway yesterday. We ordered a chinese food take away and watched Harry Potter and the deathly hallows on cable pay per view :)

I did abit of craft with the free kit from the stiching magazine that i bought awhile back, a pin cushion.

and just browsing a new Cath Kidston Catalogue that arrived on the doorstep, drooling at everything in the catalogue.

seems like sunday is going to be bright, we're going to hubby's parents house for abit, then take a walk down town and lunch. Have a blessed Sunday! :)

a Country Tea Parties book with lovely illustrations inside for 50p and a wild flower card game for 30p. that's it! :)

..and just thought to take a random shot of my skorts (skirts + shorts) after doing my ironing session. Wishing everyone a brighter weekend!

The other day when a friend of mine picked me up and went to town, she didn't just took me to the job centre, after i dropped some job applications, we checked out some shops in town, I guess summer sale has started but i have to refrain to splurge though i'm so tempted! I managed to buy some that were on Sale.

Though it was drizzling and I had to pay the price of getting cold but i'm much better now, still abit of sniffles left but I also managed to buy some stuff from a charity shop too.

More Cross Stitch Projects complete with the wooden frames £3.50 for three, Mini vintage silver wine cooler £1.50, a pair of floral design Pomander for £1, Paragon floral design dish ware for £2 and of course I always, always check boxes with 50p each in every charity shops coz who knows you might find something worth buying like those Rose scented drawers liners (unopened), The Victorian Photo album and one pepper shaker with cherry design (i cant find the other one!) but for 50p each i didn't think twice of bagging them :)

I also bought two magazines that i'm going to be enjoying browsing through them today while wasting a box of tissues coz not only i got a cold, i also got hayfever, urgh but at least the weather is improving today!

Life is Like a Teacup

..have you ever heard a story of a teacup? I read it here The Teacup Story - When Life seems hard, it's so sad yet beautiful. Just thought to share :)

On happier note, I recieved a beautiful package from the postman again today (Yippee!), it's from my dear friend Marianne at Leisure Lane, I've won a giveaway at her blog, a beautiful handknitted pot holders by her, it's so beautifully wrapped with lovely ribbon and a lovely Tea Time card that she drew herself, she's very talented and creative.

..all the way from the USA, Thank You, Marianne! i love them. You can visit her blog to see all of her creations or her shop if you want to buy a card like the one she sent me :)

... I have been lazy these couple of days (blame it on the weather) so I don't have anything to accompany my tea, I've been reading a book that Scarlett gave me awhile back and just got the time to read it today while drinking tea from one of my fave mug while waiting for the rain to stop

then had an opportunity to take a picture of my stardust flowers that i put in a teapot, an idea that I got also from Scarlett. I wanted to buy more cheap teapots from charity shop and drill holes in them to use them as flower pots.

That's all from me, going to continue reading and perhaps tomorrow I'll be back crafting..:)

T.G.I.F

whoaaa..it's almost weekend again! I've been busy watching Japanese anime via youtube (ooohh how i missed my school days) when i used to read lots of manga comic books and collected them.

So i haven't been crafting much but i tend to rectify that soon but here is a simple and quick craft i made using the free gift from Mollie makes magazine that i bought last week. a felted flower brooch.

...and i recieved the latest Cath Kidston's catalogue yesterday and they're having a summer sale! ooohh hubby's pay day please come quick! i want to buy a few things from the website!

right! im going to end this post with a funny clip from the anime that i'm watching right now.. Have a great weekend everyone!

Oh Bugger!

I yelped somewhere in the night coz my hair was stuck underneath hubby's big arm and i was about to turn to the other side in my sleep, felt like a chunk of it was pulled from my scalp! must remind myself to cut it soon, getting hotter in bed anyway then I Woke up with a stiff in my neck and right shoulder, had to sit upright and it's painful to turn my head to the right, been rubbing tiger balm since this morning *sigh*.

Thanks to my dear blogger friend Bee Happy for telling me about this magazine that gives a free Cath Kidston's Tote bag that i bought yesterday at sainsburys, I'm taking it easy today and enjoying flipping through the magazine that also gives 15% discount at Cath Kidston, I might use it next month as too much expenses this month already.

despite my stiff neck, i did however decided to make an easy peasy nothing fancy fabric heart bunting with leftover fabrics I have, it takes only 5 mins and i'm back to being bored ..so..i decided to take a peek in the spare bedroom and took out my summer dresses from last years..they could do with re-washing and ironing but i gotta take photos first.

... I'm abit worried now that they might not fit me anymore as i notice i've been gaining weight since christmas, not up to trying them on with my stiff neck but i'll try them after they've been washed and ironed tomorrow, i do hope they're still fit me coz they're my fave dresses!

T.G.I.F!

Thank God It's Friday (again), Thank you for the lovely and uplifting comments on my previous post, I'm cheered up again and trying to be more optimistic and positive with life. Thank you again.

I did an easy craft today with a wooden door stop that I bought couple weeks back at Robert Dyas in town, I happened to misplaced them and while i was wondering what i should do today, i found them.

I painted two of them with red paint and use a wooden skewer for the white dots, I decoupage one of them using cath kidston's paper. I've been thinking of setting up a folksy account to sell stuff, we'll see.

It's just a random photo i took of my teddy bear that i bought awhile back in charity shop, also a Doris Day "Tea for Two" Musical greats video that I paid for 50p which i haven't got a chance to watch it as my video player is still acting up and it's been sitting there waiting :)

I wish everyone a wonderful and blessed weekend!! x Susan
