Unfinished Project

I have alot of unfinished projects that I kept putting aside and do other things that are more fast and easy to make, maybe because i'm not a very patient person and sometimes i'm also easily bored :p

One of the project that i've put aside for many months is this crocheted hexagonal blanket. When i first saw it over Attic24, I was so excited and was in love, I think i started making it early last year til summer came and i put it off doing other things and then got put off again and again for christmas and other things so it's not even half way done :(

there were times that i was running out of wool and had to dash out to the nearest haberdashery or charity shops to buy some, it's also one of the reasons why i put off doing it, it uses alot of wool :)

I was planning to make it as big as my duvet cover but well right now i don't know if i ever gonna finish it..who knows..

  1. Oh, you must finish it,'s sooo pretty!
I know it takes a lot of wool, and the constantly changing colors for each hexagon gets rather tedious, but it's such a beautiful blanket and perfect for spring and summer with all it's cheery colors.

I think it would be lovely on your bed. Imagine all those little hexys chiming in unison, "Hello sweet Susan, we love to cheer you", every time you walk into your room.

I'm back to work today...ugh. But your blanket made me smile.

  2. Susan, I,too, have found myself in that predicament. Impose a deadline to get it finished such as an occasion, or give it to someone for their B'day or something like that. I'd probably make it big enough to cover up on the couch with and gift it to myself! Bed sized crocheted covers take a lot of abuse and weigh a lot! I LOVE the colors you've chosen and would be happy to tell you when my B'day is! lol Amanda

  3. You are so talented....It is ok to not set timelines to get things done - just float with the wind and that is ok!

  4. Wow, what a lovely project! Looks so fab, hope you find the time to finish it x

  5. You have to finish it Susan, it will be stunning when it's finished and will look amazing on your bed :) I wonder what else you have started that needs finishing? I am so nosey! have a wonderful weekend sweetie :)

    Bee happy x
    Have a delicious day!

  6. I agree, you must finish it - it's going to be gorgeous. And then you must make one for me! (double bed please)

  7. Oh you have to finish it - its sooooo beautiful! I have lots of unfinished projects too, this week ive been working on my Emily Peacock 'Hug' x-stich to try and get it finished but alas i think ive got a few more weeks on to do on it Scarlett x

  8. That looks lovely susan and im sure alot of us crafters have lots of half finished projects they we put away then get out again as and when we feel like adding to it x

  9. I think you should persevere but take your time with it... have it as a project you want completed by the end of the year or in time for next Winter so that you have a goal but you can pick it up and put it down in between other smaller projects?

  10. Oh yes you HAVE to finish it! Wow the colors are GORGEOUS! I haven't done hex's yet but they're lovely. Your blanket looks like big bright summer flowers

  11. Oh Susan, that is one of the prettiest crochet blankets I have seen (I just adore the hexagon shape and the bright colours). I know sometimes a big craft job seems daunting..just do a little when you are will be well worth it :) Ohh..when you are done, can you please take it to your nearest cloning machine and clone one off for me too..haha :P
I think that kind of pattern would make great bunting as well :)
    Have a lovely weekend!

  12. Susan it's so beautiful - I'm sure you will finish it, it can be something that you add to over time when you have a spare couple of hours. It will be something you love all the more when it's completed :-)

  13. Your blanket looks gorgeous, I know what you mean about it taking lot's of wool. The one I am doing for our bed is taking forever but it'll be worth it! Blessings Niki x

  14. I have lots of unfinished projects, it's nice to be able to revisit them at a later date. I hope you manage to finish this one soon! xxx
