Surprises and a Crush..

I received a lovely parcel yesterday from Magie at TeacupsandBunting along with a lovely card from Jem at BeautifulClutter, I really am touched and so happy to receive them, Thank you!
Magie sent me a cute heart shaped cushion hanger with super cute bunting card. i love the lip gloss she gave too, the color is just perfect and the crocheted flower is so fun and bright, thank you Magie! The parcel is beautifully wrapped and i just love the doodle she made, she's just so creative.

Jem sent me a beautiful Tea Time card from Wedgwood, it's so beautiful and I'm so touched reading what she wrote to me, i really thank you so much!
As i was re-organizing my stuff, I have this bundle of scrap fabrics that are too small to use them as small projects and don't have the heart to throw them either as i might have an idea on how to use them on something which i did, I have some unused picture frame that i got from charity shop a long time ago, so I just sort of decoupage the scrap of fabrics onto the frame and layer them.

I think i like the result and it is now has its uses to display the lovely cards i got from my friends :) I feel a crush coming on and i really want to make more and perhaps use the much more smaller scraps for a different project as i still have alot more of scrap fabrics lying around...
Have a lovely weekend! x

Catching up...

I found a parcel at my doorstep yesterday sent by my lovely blogger friend Bee Happy, it was a lovely surprise and I wanted to thank you so much for the birthday gifts you sent.
Loving the 3 spools of cute ribbons she sent, a cute metal sign, lovely Heart shaped hanger made of fabric that she screen printed (i gotta learn that!), handmade cute keyring from ribbons and a sweet birthday card, Thank you Bee! x

I know it's kinda late but I didn't have time to take a pic and post it before i left to Indonesia but my dear friend Marianne also sent me a parcel full of pretty things for me.
I'm enjoying flipping through each page of the Tea Time Treats she sent me along with the heart shaped cookie cutters (definitely going to use it soon), a gorgeous red nail polish, lovely selection of ribbons, a sweet notebook that i brought with me to Indonesia to write little notes about my journey and floral scented soap that smells heavenly. She even wrote me a lovely letter on a paper that she designed herself...cute cherries! Thank you Marianne! x

I also won a giveaway before I went for a holiday from MellyBee, I was so happy to have won Jubilee items from her such as Jubilee greeting cards and postcards, some cute badges and lovely tea towel that she made herself. I'm so lucky!
..and last but not least, I wanted to share photos of the Jubilee swap that i sent to and received from Hannah that I joined over Faith Hope & Charity Shopping, this too..im sorry to say I took the pic from my camera phone and it's not a good camera and posted it in Instagram, so i'm sorry it's abit blurry but I would like to say thank you to Lakota for hosting the event and to Hannah for the lovely swap gifts she sent.
if you want more clearer photos, click her link on her name above to see what she has sent me, I love the jubilee bunting that she made, the pomander is a pretty addition, a Jubilee tea and.......a sedum cutting (also known as 'Ice Plant) that she grown herself in her garden which is a direct descendent of a plant which is growing in one of the Queen's gardens i'm told, complete with a note on how to care for it coz i dont have green thumbs....but Lo and behold! it's not dead yet although i left it for more than 10 weeks but it has now pink flowers on it though it doesnt look that good but i do hope I don't kill it! hehe Thank you so much! please forgive me if i killed it in near future (fingers crossed i wont!)

My Little Tea Rooms

Wow-Wee! Look what i recieved from my dear blogger friend Lakota this morning! A super duper cutie cookie jar in the shape of an adorable tea rooms! Thank you for the birthday gift, Lakota! I really really love it soooo much! thank you soo much *teary eyed*.

..and a beautiful birthday card with lovely words, someday if i ever opened my own tea room, i'll make sure i'll serve coffee too coz i know you like coffee more than tea :)

I love how each sides has different designs, a cute window and the menu board, and it has a cute chimney too! I just love it!

I'm sorry I havent been able to get online this week as I'm busy looking for a job, updating my cv and going places to get job application forms and submitted them, i also been going back and forth to the job centre to attend a group session for jobseekers hoping to get tips and info on jobs and how to improve myself in the interviews to get a job, well so far no luck yet and it's near christmas, I feel abit depressed coz i really do want to get any job for extra money so I can buy christmas presents for my husband and family and friends.

Also, another fence fell down in my back garden coz of the wind, had to fix it and thankfully my next door neighbor paid half to get it fixed. The heater wont start when we tried it as it's getting colder now so that's another prob as we have a very old boiler , hopefully we wont have to replace it coz it's bloody expensive! so many other problems that I just dont feel like doing anything crafty this week but I'm going to try to put aside all the probs for now and just distract myself by visiting my lovely blogger friends again!

Thank You Ladies!

I want to thank you soooo much for the lovely birthday wishes from all of you lovely ladies and for the cute cards that i recieved yesterday from the lovely Scarlett and Jem, love'em!

I'm happy but also sad everytime i turned one year older (blame it on my period), but thanks to Skype I can talk and see my family on webcam, i miss my mom and everyone in Indonesia. I do hope next year I can go there for holiday and see everybody *fingers crossed*.

Me thinks it's about time that i have a birthday resolution which is to try and go on a diet (easier said than done), i realized that not only my clothes are getting tighter, i dont even have to weigh myself to know that im getting fatter, I want to try low carbs diet suggested by a friend's hubby who is in the process of doing it and has lost a few pounds in just 10 days! So yes it's the reason why i said no to a birthday cake (grudgingly) when hubby wanted to buy one and starting today i'm going to try to do some exercise like walking 3 times a week (at least). So wish me luck!

There's a good news that I might get a bicycle for Christmas (but no promises) coz hubby thought i'm super fussy as I wanted a hybrid/country bike that costs alot (with front basket of course) and he also suggested that if i wanted to do a course on dress making in our local college, i should find out when and how much (again no promises and depends on how much and whether we could afford it). So we'll see..

in the meantime...i'm back in business on blogging and have a nosey on everyone's blogs! :) Happy Sunday!

Happy Birthday to Me!

Yay! the sewing machine is here, almost didn't get it in time coz there was a slight problem when hubby went to collect it in argos shop and they said they didnt have his reserved name online! but thankfully they have it in stock! apparently the website had a glitch or something and was under maintenance so they might not get his reservation but oh well, i was lucky and happy when he came home with it!

I'm also over the moon when the postman dropped something on my doorstep, a package from my dear blogger friend Bee Happy. She's sooo sweet as to have sent me a birthday gift! a lovely birthday card along with varities of PGtips Tea and Tetleys (can't wait to try them all)...and the most gorgeous teapot necklace i've ever seen! u can even open the lid and it has a stunning jewel inside! Thank you soo much, i love it!

I also had a few gifts from my in laws which hubby brought me after a quick trip to their house on the way to Argos, a lovely brooch and chocolates in a bag, yummy!

I've been reading the manual book of the sewing machine (which gives me a headache) i think it's easier to just check youtube on how to do thread the sewing machine, the bobbins etc...i think that's the first i need to know before i do any sewing hehe so excited!

Thank you so much for all the lovely ladies who have wished me Happy Birthdays! i'm so touched and very Happy! Wishing you a lovely weekend!

Capuccino and Surprises

Yesterday, my friend Komang asked me to meet her for a coffee down town, we also ordered cakes which was really yummy, this is her drinking her capuccino.

She couldnt stay long as she needs to pick up her daughter from school and i was surprised when she gave me a birthday gift and told me she couldnt give me on my birthday as she will be away to Scotland for a few days to attend her hubby's friend's wedding, I'm so touched! she gave me a cupcake shaped cookie jar and a cath kidston's mug, she knows what i love!

When i got home, I saw a red envelope on my doorstep, it's from my dear friend Magie, it's a birthday card from her and the card is absolutely adorable! i love it so much, Thank you Magie! you're so sweet! Hope you're feeling better soon and got over your cold! x

Hubby is taking the day off tomorrow but today he'll be getting the sewing machine from argos later this afternoon, can't wait when he comes home with it! i'm sooo ready to try it straight away! hehe

He Killed The Cake!

I went solo to a friend's hubby's birthday on friday night, tagged along with another friend with her hubby and drove to chichester to have dinner at Jasmine Thai Restaurant. The birthday boy, as usual always make jokes and funny :)

Crispy duck came first as starter and finished in a split of seconds before i got a chance to take a pic but the main course are selection of delicious thai food, lovely companies and a good news from another friend (with red dress) that she's got engaged.

surprisingly, the restaurant was abit quiet on friday night but then again, it wasn't a very good night anyways as it was pouring down with rain. Got home almost midnight, had a great time and lovely company.

I made a short clip of video as i was bored the other day and thought to have a go twiddling with windows movie maker on my laptop. Started out coz i couldnt play whatever i recorded with my digicam as it was in .MOV file so i needed to convert it to something else. Don't know if u can play it :)

or if u can't play it and still want to watch the link is HERE.

Hope everyone have a great weekend!

Happy Birthday Helen!

Last week was my mother in law's 72nd Birthday and since she celebrated it with her husband by taking a trip together, i thought to invite her over this week for a lunch, too bad my sister in law couldn't come as she lives in brighton and had to work on sunday. I didn't do anything fancy as she's having a prob with her tooth and can only eat something soft, so I cooked spaghetti carbonara with lots of cream to make them soft. I also baked her sort of a birthday cake, which was one of her fave and something i was confident of making as i have done it alot of time, Victoria Sponge cake :)

It was a relaxing lunch with a bottle of red wine that both of them enjoyed, hubby couldn't drink more than one small glass as he had to pick and drop them home, watched cats and dogs that we recorded as they love animals and seem to laugh alot during the movie.

and of course we had the cake and tea :)

That's her fave mug whenever she came over :)

Once they've gone, I cleaned up the mess and had more tea, Hubby has taken a week off work, not sure what we're going to do for a week but a visit to a doctor will come first as hubby's toe has been troubling him these couple of days.

That's it from me, Have a wonderful day and Happy Tea Time Tuesday!

My Friend's Birthday

Last night was fab, the food was delicious at China Palace Restaurant, we ordered almost everything in the menu for 9 people, i was the only one who came without a partner, was picked up around 7.30pm by the birthday girl and her hubby and dropped home safe and sound around midnight, to my surprised I only had one glass of red wine at the Three Fishes club after dinner but had lots of Jasmine tea over Dinner, that's the one tea that I dont put sugar and milk.

The birthday girl in blue dress is the first girl I met when I first moved to the UK and she also lives close to my house then she introduced me to the other indonesian girls and they're the ones who taught me alot of things about living in the UK. I've decided to wear black coz I think it's a good color to hide my bulges and make me look slimmer (in denial MODE) but yes, I think i'll go on a diet and try to exercise starting tomorrow (fat chance).

I'm so glad that we decided to come home early last night coz we also just realized that today's a Mother's Day and I'll be popping over to hubby's parents later and need to buy some flowers for my mother in law.

Happy Birthday Pumpkin :)

Happy 46th Birthday My Darling Husband

Today is my hubby's birthday, I've wished him twice, last nite when the clock striked at midnight and in the morning when he first woke up. I made him his fave breakfast in bed with bacon and a hot pot of coffee. He wanted a relaxing time on his birthday as he's been stressed out lately with his new project at work as a computer programmer, so I kept tip-toeing around the house so he could have alot of rest and so glad that I've baked the cakes yesterday!

The cake above is called "Dundee Cake" which my husband's fave and requested me to make as his birthday cake, my first time baking it, a bit burnt and cracked in the middle but he loves it.

The second one is called "Victoria Sponge Cake" which we are both love, especially me :) coz i dont particularly like a cake that has too much dried mixed fruits in it like Dundee cake so he can have it all by himself while this one I can share it with him and his colleagues at work which I need to bake another one later as i just found out it wont be enough for 10 people :)

I gave him 3 books from his fave author for a birthday gift that he wanted to add to his collection, his parents and only sister called and asked when he could drop by as his parents dont drive and his sister lives quite far from us, so we will try to find the time to visit them this week, hopefully.

I've set the table, prepare 3 course meal for two which consist of, chicken with sweet corn soup for starter, Rib Eye steak with roasted veggies for main course and a chocolate pudding from GU as a dessert. Lovely meals he said and I'm glad he has a nice relaxing and a quiet birthday that he wanted, time to wash the dishes and clean up and join him watching some movies he loves.
