Craft-Tea

Months ago, I came across a blog called Designsponge and it was love at first sight when i saw the teapot lamp she created, so beautiful! I havent been brave enough to follow her tutorial as I dont have a large collections of teapots/cups for making the lamp and if i did, i'm scared of making a mistake and losing my precious china eventhough most i bought in charity shop for cheap prices, still...i dont have the heart to use them for my project.

Until...a few days ago, i dropped one of the teapot that i bought long ago from a charity shop, the lid was chipped a little bit and since i probably bought it for less than £5, i thought to myself, well here's your chance to make that lamp you wanted. So I did..

It's just an experiment so if i failed making it, i'm not too upset about it, I didn't even use teacups to stack on the teapot like in the tutorial, as i said, it's just an experiment. I didn't use a drill either, i just hide the lamp cable behind the teapot, as for the lamp itself, it's also from charity shop that i bought awhile back for £2 including the lamp shade, so all i did was super gluing them inside the teapot and added artificial flowers that i glued on a small plate to keep them in place and so the lamp wont wobble and secured.

I still want to try to make the lamp like in the tutorial though, maybe one day once i have the proper tools and spare china collection to play with. Because of this, I didn't make or bake cakes for my tea time tuesday submission, I do however enjoying the fresh taste of fruit salad consists of strawberries, Melon and papaya with whipped cream on top. Summer is a bliss.

Untill next time..

Happy Tea Time Tuesday!

  1. Your teapot lamp turned out really well..how cute is that! I have seen the teacup/teapots lamps online as well, I really like them, but like you was a bit nervous drilling through my china (though perhaps worst case scenario one could then make a mosaic :P).
The lamp goes really well with your table setting..is it in your bedroom or the living room?
The fruit salad looks pretty yummy to me! :)

  3. oh oh oh oh my!!!! You did a GREAT job with the lamp. You would NEVER know that it wasn't sitting in that teapot and perfect for when you want to change things up again. I have wanted to make one of those tiered serving trays with my pretty plates but alas I am too chicken, we are attached to our pretties!! YUMMY on the fruit salad, sometimes simple is BEST!

  4. Well done! I think your lamp turned out just fine. I have been wanting to make the 3 tiered cake stands with china plates and a tea cup, but am too nervous to drill the holes too! Maybe this summer we will both get brave and drill!
