Pink-ish Buys

Yay! i saw a new charity shop (for the Homeless) is setting up its shop near my home, it's still closed though and i could see some people inside trying to re-arrange the shop when i was about to visit the other two charity shops next to it. First visit was to the Good Samaritans charity shop, very small, cramped and u really need to dig and rummage through stuff to get lucky..well if you're lucky you'll find some things worth your pennies, I found this among kitchenwares in one of the boxes.

This retro-ish flask only costs 50p, it was dirty but after a good clean and scrub, it sparkles :) This charity shop doesn't really put any effort on displaying their items neatly in front, but I don't mind coz unlike its neighbor the Guild Care charity shop with its big space, neatly displayed items and also selling new items and furnitures, i feel like their items are abit overpriced. Anyways I also found this big floral bag from atmosphere among other bags for £1 in good samaritans charity shop and again it was dirty and i had to clean it but i can see it's still in a good condition.

Then when i couldn't find anything else worth buying, i went in the Guild Care charity shop and bought these two floral vases for £2.50.

..and so glad that i found these 3 teacups and saucers as I've been searching for new ones to make teacup candles in winter, I bought them for £3.50.

Last but not least, A wicker basket with gingham lining for just £1 for my wools. I'm quite happy with my buys and hopefully next time i go there again, the new charity shop has already opened! :)

  4. Wow, you sure did well at the charity shops. I love the floral bag you bought, £1 Bargain! I am sure you will get a lot of use out of the retro style flask, during the colder Autumn/Winter days. Such pretty teacups..the teacup candles is a great idea. I have bought a few of them in the past, but have never attempted to make them myself. Let me know how it goes :)

  7. Ohhhh, the teacups!! The teacups are fantastic, I'm so in love with those patterns and two for £3.50 is a great price :-) I'm always so thrilled when I come across china now as it seems so thin on the ground in Ashbourne charity shops. Maybe because everyone is after it! Hoping we'll get chance to nip to the flea market in Derby on Tuesday for my birthday and might pick some up there.

I really love the flask, the basket and those sweet little vases too - a beautiful haul of treasure this week. Have missed your posts recently, hope you're well hun.

  9. Oh, so good to hear from you, Susan!! I like all of your finds, but I think my favorite are the teacups/saucers - they are soooo pretty. I would drink tea from them everyday! You always find such wonderful items. The few thrift shops we have here don't have anything as nice as what you find.

So glad to hear from you, and to share your special buys.

    Love,
    Marianne xox

  11. I live in Canada and we don't have a lot of charity shops but my favorite that just happens to be in my community is organized but crowded. And we love it because it means we really need to "hunt for treasures" as my children used to say when they were small. I love peeking thru piles of linens and moving items out of the way to see what's hidden behind. The other shop in town is a large national chain and the prices are horrendous but everything is sorted and laid out neatly. Still not my style and I never go there anymore. Still love the little shop on the corner, where we "hunt for treasures"! Great finds you able to bring home. Have fun when the new shop opens!

It was so good to hear from you at Down Memory La La Lane. I hope you will visit again. I missed you.
