Fabrics Transfer Pillows

I've been drooling seeing lots of talented bloggers made fabrics transfer pillows using Citra Solv, I've searched every shops in my town that could possibly sell Citra Solv but no such luck, they dont even sell it on ebay or amazon UK. So desperate moment call for desperate measure, since Citra Solv is a cleaner and degreaser, I thought to myself, maybe any brand of cleaner and degreaser will do. I rummaged my cleaning bottles in the kitchen and found Mr. Muscle and Cillit Bang. these two might work, I thought to myself and chose Mr. Muscle first for my first experiment in a small piece of fabric.

So it works! I'm ecstatic! then I brave myself to do the real deal.

1. I sew a plain white pillow cover the size of A4 or abit bigger.

2. Then I fill the pillow cover with newspaper coz I dont want the ink to seep through to the back cover.

3. I printed out an A4 size of a design and use the Mirror effect in photo editor.Please note that I use InkJet printer, i dont think it'll work on Laser printer coz you need the ink to seep through to the fabrics and you'll be putting the design face down.

4. Pour a little liquid from Mr.Muscle or Citra Solv into a small bowl and you'll need a glove if you so wish (I didnt) and a small paint brush.

5. Put the design face down and tape the corners so it wont move around and secured.

6. Brush the design with Mr. Muscle, do not over soaked it or the Ink will get everywhere and make the design blur. Then use the back of the spoon to press the design that already wet so it would transfered to the fabrics more firmly, do this tapping with the spoon 2 to 3 minutes then you can see the result!

I made three pillows with different designs from The Graphics Fairy, I made one with my husband's and my name's on it with the date of our wedding, not perfect as this is my first try but I kinda happy with the results though there's blur here and there, or i get impatient and peek if the ink has seeped through but it didn't :)

I bought a set of 4 Linen napkins from £1 store awhile back and it's the perfect size to make them as pillows coz they have laces around them :)

Happy Mother's Day!

I know I should have posted this on Sunday or yesterday at least but I was too lazy to upload the pictures from my camera as they weren't alot. Anyways in the UK we celebrate Mother's Day on the 3rd of April, I guess most countries have their own dates for Mother's Day, I know in Indonesia they celebrate it on the 22nd of December but hey, who cares on the dates as long as they have a special day to celebrate Mother's Day? I know my own mother deserves a special day for her who has taken care of me and my four siblings since we were born as well as their children now and then.

I went to hubby's parents on Sunday to give my mother in law a bouquet of flowers and a mother's day card, I'm shamed to say that I thought to give her an embroidered pillow that I've been making since months ago but still not yet finished and I didnt have time to buy her any gift, so i guess the pillow will have to be given on later dates once it's finished :)

We didn't stay long at her house coz it seems like she's had the flu, I hope she'll get better soon and we might have to do a weekly shopping for her if she's not up to it.

I've been trying to read a novel that i bought last year but seems like my mind is elsewhere, I used to be really hooked up in reading, especially from my fave authors Julia Quinn, Johanna Lindsey and Christine Feehan to name a few but I guess right now my mind is occupied on doing craft projects :)

I love the tea mug and has several more like it with different pattern, i bought it at Beales and it's from Guildcrest Collection. I can't remember how much was it but it was under a fiver :)

and Nope, those books have not been read by me yet, still brand new and bought by hubby for me and I really should try and start reading again *sigh*. Anyways, Happy Tea Time Tuesday and Happy Belated Mother's Day! :)

My Friend's Birthday

Last night was fab, the food was delicious at China Palace Restaurant, we ordered almost everything in the menu for 9 people, i was the only one who came without a partner, was picked up around 7.30pm by the birthday girl and her hubby and dropped home safe and sound around midnight, to my surprised I only had one glass of red wine at the Three Fishes club after dinner but had lots of Jasmine tea over Dinner, that's the one tea that I dont put sugar and milk.

The birthday girl in blue dress is the first girl I met when I first moved to the UK and she also lives close to my house then she introduced me to the other indonesian girls and they're the ones who taught me alot of things about living in the UK. I've decided to wear black coz I think it's a good color to hide my bulges and make me look slimmer (in denial MODE) but yes, I think i'll go on a diet and try to exercise starting tomorrow (fat chance).

I'm so glad that we decided to come home early last night coz we also just realized that today's a Mother's Day and I'll be popping over to hubby's parents later and need to buy some flowers for my mother in law.

Happy Pink Saturday! it's a glorious day, the sun is shining, the neighbor's dog is barking, my hair is still not as straight as I wanted it to be and hubby is complaining why women dont accept what they are and asked why do I bother to straighten my curly long hair for hours while other straight haired women curl theirs.I just rolled up my eyes and said another wrong thing, I dont have anything to wear for my friend's birthday party tonight! again hubby in his matter of fact way calmly opened the wardrobe and pointed out all my clothes that has occupied at least 90% of our shared wardrobe *grins*.

Anyways, while I was contemplating on what I'm gonna wear, I heard the sound of Ice Cream Van passed by our house and stopped across the street, I wanted to ask hubby to buy one for me before it goes away but instead I grabbed my camera and took a pic from the window coz the van is pink and it's cute!

I'm sure i'll catch it again tomorrow and will be lining up with the other kids to buy Ice Cream.

As promised, here are the goodies that I bought in town. A quite big bird house from TK MAXX that is having a sale UP to 80%, it was £7.99 but I bought it for £3, i will of course will give a makeover to that bird house, maybe a decoupage, who knows.

3 Metal Plague/Signs from £2.50-£3 and again it was £7.99 also in TK MAXX, too bad they dont have the one with word TEA but i think I will also do makeover in the future.

and Lastly, a Fabric Bunting from Maison Vintage collection in BHs was on sale for £4.80 was £12.

I'm quite happy with my shopping trip yesterday, I'll be checking my friends' blogs before i go out later in the evening coz i think i'll be coming home in the wee hours in the morning and might be a bit tipsy and will wake up very late on sunday :)

Thank You Lakota!

I'm so glad hubby's back to work today coz I've been wanting to relax and do nothing. After I shoved him out of the door this morning, I went straight to have a relaxing bath, a cup of tea in hand while soaking up in the tub and turned on the radio to Heart FM. Dried my hair took abit longer and that's when I realized "Oh, S*&T! I have a birthday party to attend tomorrow night and I haven't got any Birthday gift!", So i quickly dashed out of the house to town to buy a birthday card and a gift which I got it from TK MAXX, of course following my dear blogger friend Scarlett, I went through the section that was on SALE Up to 80%! I snatched a few things that I will show you once my camera's battery has been fully charged coz I forgot to do it this week!

I came home to find a package that was left by a Postman, Lo and Behold! it's the "STITCH" book from CK that I've won at Lakota's Blog! I'm super duper Happy! Thanks for the fast delivery! x

I just finished wrapping up a birthday gift for my friend tomorrow, I actually dont feel like going coz the invitation is actually for me and my husband and hubby says he's still abit weak and not up to going out yet and i'm sure the others will bring their partners but i've already promised her to come to her birthday party so I told my friend about it but she offered me a lift and still wanted me to come, I'll be single for tomorrow night, we'll be having dinner at China Palace restaurant then continue the party in one of the clubs in town. It's gonna be a long night.
