C'est la vie

...and when I thought i've gotten over my moodiness, M.O.T's bill sunk me further into a well of sorrow, the car's suspension and tyres need to be replaced which costs over a thousand pounds, there goes my plan to visit my family in my hometown, Indonesia this summer which we have saved for a few years! i've been homesick these couple of years and tried my best to be patient and to find a job with no luck. Such is life!

on top of that, i've been trying not to get involved in a drama between my two indonesian friends here but somehow i was dragged in involuntarily just because i was in one of my friend's car at that time, really i dont need more drama in my life, i've got enough probs. I won't bore you with the details.

Anyways, I recieved this month's catalogue today from Cath Kidston which kinda distract me from thinking of my probs for a few moments.

I was planning also to buy a few stuff from CK this month but now i guess it will stay in my wish list and I don't know when I'll be able to buy them :(

I did however managed to do something that makes me calm, I decoupaged my little bird house using CK's paper. I bought the bird house last month from TK Maxx for £3 and you can see the post here

Okay, sorry about the ramblings but I just wanted to get it out of my chest and I'm glad that i have a blog to rant and rave :)

  1. Oh doesn't the bird house look fantastic! I've seen a few similar makeovers of these and am very tempted to give one a go myself!

  3. First of all, that birdhouse is GORGEOUS!! You did a FANTASTIC JOB! Seriously, that is my kind of thing, the flowers, the red... I really love it. And second, if it makes you feel any better, my car needs work, I can't even drive it right now; and I had a fight with my son; and things aren't going that great for me financially either so I have to put off buying things I like too... so don't feel it is just you!! We all go through things like this at some point, where you feel like asking, "What else is going to happen?" So I feel for you! Just know that you are not alone. :)
Things will get better! As my father used to say: The Good Lord provides!
    Best,

  4. Your birdhouse is darling Susan! You're such a good decoupager, mine's always lumpy and crooked.

I'm sorry you're having a tough time:( I also tried to look for a job, I went on 13 job interviews and didn't get hired...it was very hard on my ego!! My car also pooped out on us right after that so now we only have one car which my husband uses for work. We live on a very tight budget but we do our best to make it work. Times are tough! As for your homesickness, that must be so hard to deal with so I don't have any good advice there, just a virtual hug.

When all else fails, have a cup of tea and sit down with your magazine:)

  7. Aw Susan, sorry to hear you're so down. It's really hard when you're not able to see your family. Are you able to skype or anything to keep in touch?

Your birdhouse looks lovely though, have you ever thought about an Etsy shop?

  8. Susan dear, I'm sorry to hear your trip is affected by money woes...and of course the car situation. Keep faith that all is working out for your best interest. Keep that in your heart and mind no matter what the circumstances seem around you. Remember God has no limits and He has everything you need. Be grateful for that, and who knows what can happen. It's hard, I understand. Here is a big hug with love,
    Marianne

  9. Oh, my, I forgot to say how perfectly wonderful your birdhouse turned out!!! I think it's sooo grand. What cheery colors and patterns! You certainly took a 'blah' birdhouse and turned it into a lovely 'home'. You have a great 'eye' for design, Susan. Oh if you could earn good money doing that - how fun! Have you ever thought about designing windows for boutiques and such?

    Love,
    Marianne xo
